Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/2 cup flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. table salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 bag chocolate chips (Nestle's or Hershey's semi-sweet morsels)
Course Sea Salt

Make sure the eggs and butter are at room temperature before you begin.

Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and table salt; set aside.

In a separate bowl, beat the butter and white sugar together for 4 or 5 minutes until creamy.

Add brown sugar to the butter and white sugar mixture and beat thoroughly.

Add one egg at a time to the butter and sugar mixture, blending thoroughly after each egg is added.

Add vanilla to the butter, sugar and egg mixture. 

Slowly add the dry mixture of flour, baking powder, baking soda and table salt.  Mix well.

Stir in chocolate chips by hand with a large spoon.

Place dough in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes and preheat oven to 350 degress.

Drop by rounded tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets.

Lightly sprinkle Course Sea Salt on top of each unbaked cookie before putting into the oven to bake.

Bake in oven center at 350 degrees for approximately 8 to 12 minutes. Edges of cookies will be lightly browned. Let stand a minute on the cookie sheet before removing to racks to cool.

Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
